The oil-and-gas companies of Russia and Ukraine signed contracts on purchase of Turkmen gas

At once two large-scale contracts for natural gas deliveries was signed yesterday in Turkmen capital.

NJSC “Naftogaz of Ukraine” will buy 36 b.c.m of Turkmenistan natural gas next year according to the contract signed with State Corporation “Turkmenneftegaz”, at the price of 44 dollars for one thousand cubic meters.

At that 50 % cost will be paid in currency, and other half by deliveries of goods and realization of investment projects on the Turkmenistan territory. Ukraine is going to buy about 250 b.c.m of Turkmen natural gas in 2002-2006 as a future prospect.

This very day oil-and-gas Company "ITERA" signed the contract on purchase of 10 b.c.m of blue fuel in 2003. Delivery terms are the same: 44 dollars for one thousand cubic meters, terms of payment - 50 % in currency, 50 % - goods deliveries.

Taken together with export deliveries of Turkmen natural gas to Iran, total amount of prospective sales of Turkmenistan blue fuel abroad will exceed 50 billion cubic meters next year.
