Ukrtransnafta to pump 2 mln tonnes of oil on Odessa-Brody pipeline in 2003
Ukrtransnafta has signed contracts to supply 2 million tonnes of Russian oil through the 52 km Odessa-Brody pipeline section being used in reverse, company Deputy CEO Roman Borsch said at a meeting of the National Commission for the Regulation of Electricity, on Wednesday.
He did not say with whom exactly the contracts were signed, for reasons of commercial secrecy.
Borsch did not rule out the possibility of increasing the transportation volume to 4 million tonnes.
He said that Ukrtransnafta also signed a contract with Russian companies to transport oil through the Velikotsk-Lishchansk pipeline amounting to not less than 4 million tonnes per annum in 2003. This section was practically not used this year and transported only 550,000 tonnes.
As reported earlier, Ukrtransnafta reduced oil production by 15.556 million tonnes (25.5%) year-on-year to amount to 48.013 million tonnes in 2002.
