Ukrainian gasoline exports up 670% in Jan-Aug.


Ukraine increased gasoline exports 670% year-on-year to amount to 364,000 tonnes in January-August 2002, a source in the republic's State Customs Service told Interfax.

Diesel exports increased 70% to 995,000 tonnes, with fuel oil exports also up 70% to 4.142 million tonnes.

Imports of gasoline in January-August this year fell 28.6% year-on- year to 307,100 tonnes, with diesel imports down 45.5% to 348,700 tonnes and fuel oil imports down 91.2% to 13,600 tonnes.

However, according to the State Customs Service, imports of oil products have started to increase gradually since June, while exports are falling. In August gasoline imports were up 600% compared to the average monthly indicator for January-May, and diesel imports were up 150%, while gasoline exports fell 83.4% and diesel exports fell 33.3%.
