On October 27 NJSC "Naftogaz of Ukraine" and "Turkmenneftegaz" will sign the contract on delivery of Turkmen natural gas to Ukraine on 2003

The meeting of the Chairman of board of NJSC "Naftogaz of Ukraine" Jury Bojko with the President of Turkmenistan Saparmuratom Niyazov, during the one-day working visit of the head of the Company to Ashkhabad on October, 1, took place.

The main topic of negotiations was the new contract on delivery of Turkmen natural gas to Ukraine on 2003.

The parties emphasized a high level of partnership between Ukraine and Turkmenistan and have noted successful realization of all bilateral projects, which was started by the Presidents of two countries during Saparmurata Niyazov's last year visit to Ukraine and Leonid Kuchmy's visit to Turkmenistan in the spring of this year.

Ukraine remains the largest buyer of Turkmen natural gas, its status is fixed in the long-term agreement on 2002-2006. Turkmenistan remains the basic supplier of natural gas to Ukraine during last two years.

The president of Turkmenistan and the Chairman of board NJSC "Naftogaz of Ukraine" supported the further development of cooperation in realization of projects of industrial and communication construction in Turkmenistan with participation of Ukraine. The total cost of the works which are carried out today by Ukrainian side exceeds 1 billion US dollars.
